Valentine's Day is Coming!

Keeping your Christmas tree fresh.

Happy Holidays Everyone! The Christmas Holiday will soon be ending....better hurry and get your shopping done! That includes me too! Thanks for your post Cousin Carolyn! Love you too. I love hearing from you all...especially family! Chuck, Jen, myself and our dogs Cinnamon & Sugar, want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year! Happy Chanukah (a bit belated) to my family on the "other side." That would be my wonderful Dad and Uncle Paul and Amy and Adam! We all seem to celebrate both holidays. It's a wonderful thing....the celebration of life! Here's a tip for those of you who have a Christmas tree (I refuse to be politically correct and will absolutely not call it a "holiday" tree.) Water your Christmas tree with hot, boiling water in the basin. If you are just buying a tree this week, have the salesperson make a fresh cut on the bottom, (or you can do it yourself if you have a chainsaw) and when you water it, be sure to add half a dozen crushed aspirin to the hot water. (Please be sure your pets don't drink it). The salicylic acid and the hot water will serve to keep the tree fresh and taking in water on a daily basis. Water everyday with the hot water and your tree will remain fresh for the entire holiday. Another trick is to use a 1:1 ratio of the hot water with Sprite soda. The citric acid and the sugar will also keep your live tree fresh...great for cut flowers too! Don't forget to mist your fresh garland in the house on a daily basis to keep it fresh too. Happy Holidays Everyone!
